Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried will star in the adaptation of the thriller novel THE HOUSEMAID directed by Paul Feig

Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Anyone but you) AND Amanda Seyfried (Oh mama!, Bad girls) have signed on to star in the thriller Hidden Pictures The waitresswith wiretaps in the studio Paolo Feig direct. The screenplay is written by Rebecca Sonnenshinebased on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden.

Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman will produce and the company’s Carly Kleinbart Elter will oversee the project. Feig and Laura Fischer of Feigco are also producing. Sweeney and Seyfried will serve as executive producers alongside Alex Young and McFadden.

In the film, Sweeney will play Millie, a struggling woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housekeeper for Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew, a wealthy, high-class couple. He soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than his own.

The novel was on the New York Times bestseller list for more than a year and 75 weeks and counting, and on the Amazon bestseller list for 98 weeks and counting.

It also reached the record of half a billion pages read on Kindle and is the second most read title for Kindle’s 10th anniversary, behind only the Harry Potter series. It has sold more than 3.6 million copies in English and has been translated into 40 languages.
