Five Nights at Freddy’s stars Josh Hutcherson AND Matthew Lillard recently offered an update on the upcoming sequel, teasing that it “will be scarier” than the first film.
Hutcherson told Esquire: “It’s much bigger; the stakes are higher. More animatronics are introduced, different animatronics are introduced and the world opens up in a big way.
He added: “We’re finding the balance right now between building this world and expanding it in a really interesting way, but also making sure the characters really stay grounded.
“I think this is something we all struggled with in the first film, because the world created in ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ is so out of the ordinary.
“It’s so exaggerated and outlandish, in a way, that finding the emotional truth of the characters would have been what would have worked.”
He added: “I think the fans are going to be mad about this. It will be a lot of fun with the source. It will be even scarier, actually.
In a separate interview with Forbes, Lillard was also asked about the sequel, and said, “I will say that I think the filmmakers did a great job learning from the first movie what the fans want, and I think they agree.” . giving much more.
“It will be more exciting and I think it will have more action. It will have a lot of character development stuff. It’s hard to kiss around. I think the story ends and this movie ends in a really emotional way.”
So it seems Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 it will be an all-around bigger, better, scarier movie. I’m excited to see where the next chapter of the story takes us. The first movie was a lot of fun!
Emma Tammi is returning to direct the sequel. She was previously asked about the future of the franchise and whether she would be willing to visit some of the other Five Nights at Freddy’s locations, such as the “Circus Baby’s Pizza World” or the “Mega Pizzaplex,” home to the Glamrock models of the animatronics .
He explained that he’s excited to explore the universe further, saying, “I’m not going to close the door on this at all. I’d be so excited to get into more movies in this world… so fingers crossed.”
Blum previously spoke about the future of the franchise, saying, “Well, I think the right video games are great material for movies. I mean, you’ve seen it with [The Super Mario Bros. Movie].
“It’s a different genre, but it was an incredibly successful film. I really hope that’s the case [with Five Nights at Freddy’s]. James [Wan] he’s actually a big gamer and we have a gaming division of our company that we’re working on.
“I’m looking forward to finding more popular games that we could turn into horror movies.”
The first film follows “a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As he spends his first night on the job, he realizes that it won’t be so easy to complete the night shift at Freddy’s. There are ghost children who have giant animatronic animals that they want to terrorize.
