I Tin 2024 for YU-GI-OH! Leaves a bad taste in duelists’ mouths

It has been an age-old tradition for Konami to release an annual box for Yu-Gi-Oh! collectible card game. Essentially, these boxes served as a second chance for cards released in the last year or so.

Also included in the original packaging are packs from last year instead of the new Mega-Pack model. THE 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors it’s available now as a 2024 box, and if you want, you can purchase one from your local OTS/games store for $21.99, although I personally wouldn’t recommend it.

I still want to thank Konami for providing me with a box to open and I will say that the physical product is nice. I love the marble-like quality of the silver background and then having the embossed art of Yami Yugi (or Atem if you prefer) and Seto Kaiba literally stand out. Then, alongside are illustrations of 18 of the secret rarities of the 50th quarter century. The physical box is clean and I like it.

Unfortunately, the product overall seems terrible and hopeless. I’m currently working on a more detailed article about my problems and potential solutions for the future of the jars, but suffice it to say, it’s a miracle to get any paper you actually want. The bright side is that with these reprints the prices of the cards on the secondary market have dropped quite a bit.

You can watch me open my box and show off the Grandopolis card sleeves and gaming mat, also recently released at OTS locations for $9.99 for 100 sleeves and $16.99 for the gaming mat. Overall I quite like the accessories, although I’m disappointed that the mat doesn’t have the contours of the card area.
