As the rumors continue to spread Tom Hardy’S Venom: The Last Dance will set Spider-Man 4 and that Venom and Spider-Man will team up in the sequel, Hardy confirmed that this will be the last time he plays the character.
Hardy recently took to social media to write, “Thank you for a great time and seven years. I’ve had the best experience [Sony] work with Venom. This is the last outing between me and the big boy, an evening with a bang!!! Come and say hello: the last of the trilogy is done.”
He makes it pretty clear here that he’s done, so unless he’s lying, don’t expect Tom Hardy to reprise his role as Venom in any future projects.
I haven’t been the biggest fan of this Venom franchise because I know for a fact that it could have been so much better in so many ways. So, I’m fine with Hardy being done with Venom and moving on.
In The last dance“Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film of the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced to make a devastating decision that will bring the curtain down on Venom and Eddie’s final dance.
The film is directed by Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). He also wrote and produced the first two Venom films. The screenplay for this third film is based on a story he developed with Hardy.
The last dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Temple of Juno, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna UbachAND Stephen Graham.
Venom: The Last Dance will be released in theaters on October 25th.
