Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film Deadpool and Wolverineis fresh off its big box office success and is still climbing the list of highest-grossing films of all time.
Now Disney hopes the film will gain major recognition. Variety reports that the Marvel film will be submitted for consideration at the Golden Globes in the comedy categories Ryan Reynolds’ in the role of Deadpool wins one of six places in the actor category (comedy or musical).
With regard to Hugh Jackmannthe plan is to place it in supporting actor competitions at every major awards show, including the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice and Academy Awards.
I have no doubts about it Deadpool and Wolverine will get some love at awards ceremonies, especially in many technical categories like production design, sound and visual effects. But we will have to wait and see if any of the actors will get recognition.
I mean, if Jackman wanted to win an award for a role, it was for his performance Logan. While Deadpool and Wolverine he was amazing and did a fantastic job, his role in Logan is, in my opinion, Jackman’s best performance ever.
Who knows! Maybe Jackman will finally be recognized with a nomination for playing Wolverine after all these years. It’s a gamble, though.
