RED SONJA actress Rhona Mitra says the film is visually ‘spectacular’ and praises Matilda Lutz

THE Sonja the redhead film starring Matilda Lutz It seems to be having some trouble getting out. There’s something going on behind the scenes because we were supposed to see a trailer debut at Comic-Con a long time ago and it never got released.

There is also no indication as to when this film will be released. The film was directed by M.J. Bassett, and we’ve only seen a couple of images of Lutz as the iconic tough warrior.

We now have a recent update from Rhona Mitrawho is also present in the film and plays an unnamed character.

When asked about Sonja the redhead In an interview with CBM, she praised the film and its lead actress, saying, “I know I’m not allowed to say anything about it. It’s not even my film. It’s very much Matilda. My name keeps popping up.

“I worked with MJ Bassett many years ago and he invited me to do what I call a ‘wink and a wave,’ which is, you know, being part of the family and having fun with some great people. Great crew. Great cast.

“Sometimes, jobs are just like that. You show up, you play, and you do what you do again, which was, of course, kicking someone’s ass. [Laughs]. I did it and I hope I did it well. The movie is not really… I can’t talk about it because it’s not mine, if you know what I mean. I think it should be very emotional.

“From what I’ve seen, being able to step back and look at so many parts of what was happening in that movie, I think it’s going to be visually something spectacular actually.”

Mitra then brought up Lutz’s value ethic and what she brings to the table as Red Sonja, saying, “I’m a huge, huge fan of Matilda. It’s really beautiful to see a young woman take on the role of such a strong character, so immensely coveted and anticipated, and take it on with such grace.”

“I’m always so happy to see young actors come in and approach the work with a level of real humility and dedication because there are so many who don’t and she’s a fantastic girl. I can’t wait to see what she does with this.”

I was very interested in this movie and I hope it ends up being a good movie! But the radio silence from the studio that produced it, Millennium Media, and the directors worries me a bit.

The story of the much-loved She-Devil With a Sword began in comics in 1973, and 50 years later, she remains the greatest female sword-and-sorcery heroine of them all!
