Gary Oldman Hints He Could Return to HARRY POTTER Universe in TV Reboot: ‘I Could Play Dumbledore’

Academy Award Winning Actor Old Gary He is known for his prolific and sprawling career which has included film and television roles in projects such as The Dark Knight, The mole soldier spy, The Darkest Hour, Man, Oppenheimerand, most recently, the much talked about series Slow horsesBut to the younger generations, he will always be known as Sirius Black in Harry Potter film franchise.

The world of Harry Potter is being reimagined in a new HBO series, which will see the books explored in greater depth. There will be an entirely new cast bringing the characters to life, but Oldman is throwing himself into the ring to return to the franchise.

The actor told IndieWire on the Emmys red carpet that the show’s creative team hasn’t approached him about any roles, adding that he felt his character wasn’t as present in the films as he would have liked, a sentiment long shared by fans of the wizarding franchise. He said, “I love Sirius. He wasn’t there enough. He showed up and then he passed through the veil.”

While the Oscar winner isn’t expecting any calls anytime soon, he may return to the small screen in another equally beloved role: “I’d bet my money they’d have a whole new cast of people,” he said. “Maybe in a few years I could do Dumbledore.”

I would love to see Oldman take on the beloved role of Dumbledore, although I would be happy to see him back as Sirius! He still looks great. I think he could pull it off. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. Would you like to see Oldman join the new project?
