Arrow star Stefano Amell he is not happy with James Gunn regarding a Green Arrow joke that was included in season one of Peacemaker.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Amell said he finally looked at the Peacemaker series, and in one of the episodes, by John Cena The character says that Green Arrow, played by Stephen Amell, is someone who “goes to brony conventions dressed like the back half of Twilight Sparkle.”
This did not please Amell, who said: “It was a little pointless,” Amell said. “I didn’t appreciate it at all. Between the movies and Peacemaker a little bit, our show was treated like shit.
“I get it, we’re on The CW, I get it, it’s TV. But I also get that when people think of the latest iteration of DC, they don’t think of the Snyder Cut, they think of the Arrowverse. We’ve been teased for years, and years, and years, and this just seemed like overkill.”
Now, Amell doesn’t hold any ill will toward John Cena, but he is a little annoyed with Gunn. He continued, “I’ve met John a couple of times, and there couldn’t be a nicer, more genuine person.
“If I were to be mad at anyone, it would have to be James Gunn for writing this in the first place. But [John Cena] He couldn’t be a nicer guy. It’s not a personal vendetta against [Cena].”
I don’t remember well Arrow be criticized because it was actually a decent DC series that had a pretty large fan base. Amell is clearly proud of the show he made and is not a fan of people criticizing it.
