Showtime has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series Right prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. Offers a first look at all the main characters in the series and is narrated by Michael C. Hallsaying, “I am a murderer, but I was not born that way. I was created.”
The series is set in Miami in 1991 and follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson), “a student who hones his killer skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater).
“In his father, he finds comfort and understanding, especially when his bloodthirsty urges grow and can no longer be ignored. As his only confidant, Harry teaches Dexter a code that is designed to help him find and kill the people who deserve to die, all while avoiding capture by law enforcement.
“This is a particular challenge for young Dexter, who is starting a forensic internship with the Miami Metropolitan Police Department.”
Michael C. Hall He’s also a producer on the series and has previously said, “It’s pretty intoxicating. I have flashbacks to the first time I came to Comic-Con. We were in this room. It was… 75 years ago? It’s amazing to still be alive. I can’t wait to watch this show.
“In a way, I have an idea of what’s coming. I’ve spent so much time with this character and to go back and fill in those imaginary gaps in this technicolor spectacle… It’s incredible.”
Showman Clyde Phillips spoke about the prequel, saying, “Expect what you’ve seen before, only better. Seeing these characters as young people is just incredible, and the storytelling, I promise you, is going to be surprising, astonishing and satisfying.”
Executive Producer Dr. Scott ReynoldsHe added: “It’s an open path. To be able to tell a story about a child who thinks he’s worthless and a father who says he’s worthless is a wonderful thing.”
The cast of the series also includes Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Cristina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson and special guest Sarah Michelle GellarHall will voice the internal monologue that occurs in Dexter’s head throughout the show.
The series will debut on December 15.
