First Trailer for Donald Trump Biopic Released The Apprenticewho sees Sebastian Stan take on the role of the former President of the United States.
The film is said to be “a deep dive into the underbelly of the American empire.” It follows Trump’s rise to fame along with his apprenticeship under influential right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn, played by Jeremy Strong.
The film is described as an “exploration of power and ambition, set in a world of corruption and deception, The Apprentice will examine Trump’s efforts to build his New York real estate business in the 1970s and ’80s, including delving into his relationship with infamous lawyer Roy Cohn. It’s a mentor-protégé story that traces the origins of a great American dynasty.”
Cohn was Senator Joseph McCarthy’s lead counsel during the Army-McCarthy hearings. Cohn was catapulted to prominence as a prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice at the espionage trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, which led to their execution in 1953.
The film is a biography of Trump by the director Ali Abbasi and also recites Maria Bakalova like Ivana Trump and Martin Donovan like Fred Trump Sr.
As you might imagine, the film caused quite a bit of controversy and had a hard time finding a buyer for that reason. But it eventually ended up at Briarcliff Entertainment.
The Apprentice will be released in theaters on October 11.
