James Gunn has been working diligently on the new DC Universe. Fans have been focused on the exciting new Superman film he’s directing, but Gunn also has a couple of TV projects in the works, including Commando Creatures and season 2 of Suicide Squad spin-off series Peacemaker heading towards us.
When asked for an update on season two on Threads, Gunn said that John Cena and the gang will return for even more outlandish adventures in 2025, “after Superman.” The DCU reboot will hit theaters in July, which means we can expect Peacemaker season 2 in the second half of the year.
Gunn recently took to social media to preview the new helmet that John Cena’s character, Christopher Smith, will wear upon his return.
Only the back of the helmet is visible in the photo, but it’s clearly a new design, likely inspired by the “Future State” version of the character.
