While Star Wars: The Acolyte will not return for a second season on Disney+, but a new prequel comic series will arrive that will continue to explore and expand the story.
Star Wars: The Acolyte – Kelnacca #1 is a one-shot comic written by Cavan Scott and illustrated by Marika Cresta, of which a preview has been published.
The story will “bridge the gap between the novels and the comics of The High Republic for The Acolyte same.” Scott talked about the comic in an interview with io9, saying:
“It was so exciting to draw a line from The Acolyte Let’s go back to the era of the High Republic that we have developed through comics, books, audio and animations.
“Kelnacca is the perfect character to bridge the gap between the era of Leslye Headland’s spectacular series and the era of Starlight Beacon, the threat of Marchion Ro and the raider Nihil.
“In this comic, we’ll learn more about one of the most intriguing aspects of Kelnacca’s design: the meaning behind those mysterious tattoos. Along the way, we’ll see the struggle of a Padawan and a master who is stoic, wise, and ultimately a true practitioner of Light and Life.”
Star Wars: The Acolyte – Kelnacca #1 will be released on September 4th.
