The HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING Movie Reportedly Casts CHALLENGERS Star Mike Faist As Haymitch Abernathy

A few months ago it was announced that the author Suzanne Collins was writing a new Hunger Games novel titled Hunger Games: Dawn on the Harvest and that Lionsgate was also developing it as a feature film.

This is the fifth novel in the series. The Hunger Games series, and this is another prequel to the original trilogy that takes place 40 years after the events of the last novel, The Ballad of the Singing Birds and the Snakes.

Now, according to Production Weekly, The History of the West Side AND Challengers star Mike Faist could be in the running to lead the cast of the film, and could take on the role of a young version of Haymitch Abernathy, who was previously portrayed Mr. Woody Harrelson in the original trilogy.

The story will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Gamesstarting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter.

Francis Lorenzowho directed the 2013 film The Hunger Games: Catching Fireof 2014 The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1of 2015 The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2and 2023 The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpentswill direct the next film.

The Hunger Games: Dawn of the Harvest will hit theaters on November 20, 2026.
