George R.R. Martin says he will soon reveal “everything that went wrong with” HOUSE OF THE DRAGON

game of Thrones creator and author George R.R. Martin said in a new blog post that HBO House of the Dragon the series has had major problems and that he will soon write about “everything that went wrong” in the series.

But, he says it’s not something he’s eager to reveal, but he has to do it soon. Martin said:

“I can’t wait to write more posts about everything that went wrong with HOUSE OF THE DRAGON… but I have to, and I will. Not today, though. TODAY is Zozobra Day, when we walk away from the sadness.”

The Burning of Zozobra festival is “Santa Fe’s way of devouring the darkness, to pave the way for the light and joy that will hopefully mark the new year. And believe me, we need it, more than ever.”

He added: “The world, the country and yes, certainly me. This has not been a good year for anyone, with war everywhere and fascism on the rise… and on a more personal level, I’ve had a pretty miserable year too, full of stress, anger, conflict and defeat.

“I need to talk about this a little bit, and I will, I will… I was away from my computer traveling from July 15th to August 15th, so a lot of things that needed to be said didn’t get said.”

It’s interesting to hear that Martin has some complaints about the House of the Dragon series. It will be interesting to see what issues he’s not happy about.

He previously praised the fourth episode of season two, saying, “Was there ever a dragon battle worthy of the name? I seem to recall that ‘Reign of Fire’ had a few scenes where a dozen dragons were flying in the sky.

“So, okay, maybe that was a bigger scene, with more dragons on screen… but a better battle? I don’t think so. Our guys took this one out of the castle.”

But, at another point, Martin highlighted a problem he had with an incorrect sigil for House Targaryen. The correct sigil depicts a two-legged dragon while the show depicts a four-legged one.

He said, “They chose the bad seal instead of the good one. That sound you heard was me screaming, ‘No, no, no.’ Those damned extra legs have even crept onto the covers of my books, despite my strenuous objections.”

Martin obviously has a lot of other things on his mind about the show that he wants to get rid of.
