Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming fairytale horror film Peter Pan’s Nightmare in Neverlandwhich comes from the film production team behind Winnie the Pooh: Blood and HoneyThe slogan reads: “It’s every parent’s worst nightmare”
While watching the trailer, I also saw that they took inspiration from the adaptation of Stephen King’S IT. I don’t know, it just seems like another stupid slasher horror movie to me. But there’s an audience out there for this kind of thing.
This film follows “Wendy Darling as she attempts to save her brother Michael from the ‘clutches of the evil Peter Pan.’ Along the way she meets Tinker Bell, who in this twisted version of the story will be seen taking heroin, believing it to be pixie dust.”
Peter Pan’s Nightmare in Neverland was directed by Scott Jeffreywho said: “This is a film with a much darker tone than Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey. When it comes to kidnapped children, it felt right. All the films in our Poohniverse will be different from the last.
“So if one isn’t for you, then maybe the next one will. Peter Pan is the meanest of them all. He’s twisted, cruel, and cunning.”
He previously said: “I’m taking inspiration from French cinema as I prepare for this film. The film will be incredibly tense. I would say it’s a mix between Switchblade Romance and The Black Phone with our own twist. It’s a nasty, violent and incredibly dark film.”
The movie stars Megan Placito like Wendy Darling, Green Kit like Tinker Bell, Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Pope’s Exorcist) like Michael Darling, and Charity Kase like James. Martin Portlock will play this dark and disturbed version of Peter Pan.
The film is scheduled for release on Halloween 2024.
