yellow wasps is the saga of “a team of extraordinarily talented high school soccer girls who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness.
“The series chronicles their descent from a troubled but thriving team to a wild clan, while also following the lives they’ve attempted to rebuild nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never truly past, and what began in the wilderness is far from over.”
The showrunners of the series, actress Ashley Lyle, Bart NickersonAND Jonathan Liscopreviously shared an update on the show after the strikes ended, saying, “We’re deep into writing,” and confirmed that the writers had already reconvened before the strikes began in May. Lyle added, “Everyone came back so incredibly excited, raring to go and creatively reinvigorated.”
yellow wasps director and producer actress He previously teased what was to come, saying, “I’ve been so excited about this. The concept of that immediate aftermath of re-entering the world, to me, is a whole season’s worth of material there.
“And the fact that this is such a long game that each of these characters are going through, in terms of reorienting themselves to whatever normality is supposed to be. I’m sure we’ll learn that their normality is very different from ours… There’s a lot that needs to be figured out between season 2 and season 3.”
Lyle has previously revealed that they have a five-season plan and that they are well on their way to delivering the full story they wanted to tell. When they talked about the full plan they originally proposed, they explained why they feel five seasons is the right landing point.
Lyle said: “The original plan was about five seasons, and we feel like we’re still on track for that. There’s always room for things. We don’t see this as a show that’s more than five seasons.
“I think there are shows that can go on forever, but I think when you’re telling a story that’s so deeply serialized and about the lives of these characters, you want to reach a satisfying conclusion and not just drag things out forever.
“This isn’t really one of those set-up shows that can go anywhere. So far, we’ve been really on track. Season 2 is largely what we always planned, but you make a lot of discoveries along the way, so it’s always a little surprising.”
Co-creator Bart Nickerson He also talked about how the process of creating the story and the journey of these characters works and how nothing is set in stone: “In terms of some of the major places where we wanted to land or move the story, that’s happening, but a lot of the dynamics and what they mean for the characters are different than I necessarily thought they would be.
“Some of the major road signs are still happening, they’re just happening in different ways, which I think is great for keeping the experience alive and vibrant on our end. We get a lot of excitement from the discovery part.
“It’s a big part of our process and the thing we enjoy most about doing this. We feel like the architecture we started with still holds up, but all the rooms are becoming quite different in this exciting way.”
It’s a fantastic show and I can’t wait for it to come back.
