Marvel Comics has unveiled a new comic book cover imagining Minnie Mouse as Captain Marvel. It’s part of a new Marvel and Disney story, What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel #1.
New Comic Mashup Comes From Writers Steve Behling (Disney Adventures magazine) and Luca Barbieriwho had previously teamed up Donald Duck and Wolverine in his own mashup comic.
Artist Giada Perissinotto, who first reimagined Minnie Mouse as Captain Marvel in the 2023 Disney100 variant cover for Amazing Spider-Man #29, provided pencils and cover art.
Editor Mark Paniccia said in a statement: “Steve, Luca and Giada perfectly capture the spirit of Carol Danvers’ origins, a real nostalgic treat with a Disney twist. It’s sure to be the funniest comic of the month!”
The one-shot finds Minnie grappling with the mystery of her new cosmic powers as she takes flight as Ms. Marvel and battles Peg Leg Pete as the villainous Scorpion, putting a fresh spin on Conway and artist John Buscema’s Ms. Marvel #1.
What is Minnie Mouse’s secret past? “Our story finds Chronicle reporter Minnie Mouse tasked with exposing a new hero on the Duckburg scene, CAPTAIN MARVEL! But Peg Leg Pete Scorpion complicates her plans with an attack on the Chronicle building!
