THE ACOLYTE Star Lee Jung-jae Breaks Silence on Series Cancellation, Saying He’s “Quite Surprised”

Star Wars: The Acolyte star Lee Jung Jaewho played Maestro Sol in the series, recently spoke out about the series’ recent cancellation after one season.

While some Star Wars fans had predicted the cancellation, Jung-jae was “personally quite surprised” and disappointed when he heard the news.

In an interview with EW, Lee said: “As you know, my character had already died in season one. So I would not have appeared in season two, if there was one anyway.

“But personally speaking, I really loved Leslye [Headland] writing. I thought she was a great writer and director, very talented in storytelling, as well as creating characters and creating meaningful structures within the story.

“So I personally was looking forward to watching a second season with her at the helm.”

The actor goes on to explain that he won’t give up hope for a second season, saying, “Honestly, I hope that maybe there will be some changes in the future because you never know what’s going to happen. So, on a personal level, I really hope that we get to see more of Leslye’s second season stories.”

Even fans of the series do not lose hope and recently launched the “Save The Acolyte” campaign to try to convince Disney to change its mind about the cancellation.

Chances are, if we see the story continue in any way, it will most likely be in comic book form. We’ll just have to wait and see.
