Earlier this year it was announced that instead of The Mandalorian Season 4, we will get the feature film The Mandalorian and Grogu.
This is exciting news for fans of the franchise, as we will get to see these beloved characters in a full story on the big screen. But unfortunately, it’s not such good news for the actor. Temuera Morrisonwho plays Boba Fett in both The Mandalorianand the limited series The Book of Boba Fett.
The actor not only confirmed that he will not appear in the film, but also revealed at Fan Expo Chicago this weekend that he had been cast to appear in The Mandalorian Season 4.
The scripts for the next season had already been written, but during last year’s strike Lucasfilm decided to make a feature film centered on Din Djarin and Grogu.
Given their popularity and the way season 3 ended, it makes sense that Disney would capitalize on them. The Mandaloriansuccess by moving the next story to the theater and earning money at the box office.
Morrison told SFFGazette:
“I understand that they’re making a Mando movie with Grogu, and uh… things have changed a bit too. There was supposed to be a Mando [season] 4, I think, and I was supposed to show up there, but for now, to be honest, I’m still waiting for a phone call.”
I can’t imagine this is the end of Morrison’s Boba Fett. I bet we’ll see him again once this story is completed. Can’t wait to see The Mandalorian and Grogu? Do you hope to see Boba Fett in the future? Star Wars projects?
