A24 has released a trailer for a bloody, disaster comedy teen film titled Year 2000 which seems like a tone of fun! The film is set on New Year’s Eve 1999 and Y2K is making technology go crazy and killing.
The short synopsis reads: “On the last night of 1999, two high school seniors crash a New Year’s Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives in this online disaster comedy.”
Year 2000 comes from actor/comedian/writer and former Saturday night live cast member My Friend Kyle Mooneywho makes his directorial debut with the film based on a screenplay written together with the producer Evan Winter.
The movie stars Jaeden Hammer (It, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone) AND Julian Dennison (Personages) play the main characters.
They join them Rachel Zegler (The History of the West Side), Lachlan Watson (Chucky, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Mason Gooding (Cry 2022, Scream VI), The Laroi boy, by Tim Heidecker (Us), Edward Franco (“Stranger Things”), Miles Robbins (Daniel is not real, Halloween 2018), Alicia Silverstone (The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Lodge), Fred Hechinger (Street of Fear), Daniel Zolgadri (Funny Pages) AND Fred Durst
The film was produced by Jonah Hill, Evan Winter, Matt Dines, Alison Goodwin, Chris Storer and Cooper Wehde.
Y2K will be released in theaters on December 6, 2024. This movie will give you a good time!
