Netflix has released another new trailer for the wild looking mythological dark comedy series titled Chaoswhich has as protagonists Jeff Goldblum like Zeus, the king of the gods.
This trailer gives us a better idea of the larger story the series will tell, and it looks like it will take the audience on an interesting journey. It also puts more focus on the other characters in the series.
Zeus, “All-powerful, cruel, occasionally benevolent… has no idea that the plot to eliminate him has begun.” The film is described as a “modern reimagining of Greek mythology.”
The series revolves around six humans who discover their connection to each other and to an ancient prophecy, while facing corrupt and arrogant gods from Greek mythology.
In the story, “Zeus has long enjoyed his status as King of the Gods. Until he wakes up and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis sets in, sending him down a dangerous and paranoid path.
“Zeus becomes convinced that his downfall is coming and begins to see signs of it everywhere. Zeus’s once-trustworthy brother, Hades, god of the Underworld, is secretly losing his grip on his dark domain.
“There is a backlog of dead waiting to be processed and they are getting restless. Hera (My life is beautiful), Queen of the Gods, she exercises dominion over the Earth – and Zeus – in her own unique way.”
But, “her power and freedom are threatened by Zeus’ growing paranoia, and she is forced to act, as Zeus’s rebellious son, Dionysus, (Nabhaan Rizwan), is out of control and on course for a cosmic collision with his father.
“On Earth people long for change, yet Poseidon (Curtis Cliff), the God of the sea, storms and earthquakes (and horses) is more interested in the size of his super-yacht and where the next party will be held. The well-being of mere mortals is of little interest to him…”
The film comes from Charlie Covellthe writer of The end of the fucking world and the producers of ChernobylThe rest of the cast includes David Thewlis like Hades, Killian Scott like Orpheus, Debbie Mazar like Medusa, and Nabhaan Rizwan like Dionysus. Plus four other mortals – Riddy (Aurora Perrineau), Orpheus (Killian Scott), Caneo (Mysia Butler) and Ari (Leila Farzad).
Chaos will be released on Netflix on August 29th.
