First clip from THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER Season 2

With Prime Video releasing The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is coming soon, they released the first clip of the fantasy show.

The footage was initially broadcast on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and can be watched below. In it we see Halbrand, alias Sauron, coming face to face with Adar.

Halbrand tells Adar that Galadriel has asked for the help of a sorcerer to create a dangerous weapon, and Adar threatens to torture him for information to protect the Uruk-hai.

The series is set “thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’S The Hobbit AND The Lord of the Ringsand will take viewers back to a time when great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the thinnest thread, and the greatest villain Tolkien had ever created threatened to plunge the entire world into darkness.

“Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows a cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared resurgence of evil in Middle-earth.

In season two, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without an army or allies, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.

The Rings of Power Season 2 will debut on Prime Video on August 29.
