Before the merger of Netflix’s Marvel shows and the modern MCU, we had some really great series with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luca’s CageAND The defenders. Iron fist was less beloved, but was part of the package. Now, they have been acquired and integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we are anticipating the return of Charles CoxMatt Murdock is in Daredevil: Reborn.
Luca’s Cage star Mike Colter He’s been pretty negative about the thought of returning to the role, but now that he’s seen what the future holds for his co-star, it seems he’s warming up to it. In an interview this year, when Colter was asked about the possibility, he said:
“I don’t stay up at night thinking about it, or remember it unless someone brings it up. But I had fun. I don’t look back. If something comes up, great, we talk about it. But right now, I’m [past it].
It’s one of those things that’s just a memory now. If I somehow get a call, my carnet is almost full. If I get a call, something happens, fantastic. I had fun… I’m happy, more than happy, to let someone else take over that role. That character will live on for a long time.
The fans will continue to have that character in one way, shape or form for the rest of their lives, and I’m happy to have been able to help do that for those kids.”
But as he saw Daredevil’s return turning into an exciting event for the series, Colter recently said:
“I would love to explore it, if they could find a story, a way, a place, where to take it. And I’m happy that Charlie Cox and the others are rebooting it, but I haven’t [idea if Luke Cage is getting rebooted].
I’m not holding back. I think it’s the right move. They should never have tried that. [to reboot it.] No, no, I don’t know what it was. I say, ‘Well, yeah, obviously,’ it wasn’t broken, so don’t fix it.”
He’s happy with the idea that the new show is just a continuation of the original, as it should be. Which of the original stars would you like to see return?
