This weekend saw the Disney D23 convention and we received a lot of great news from the studio, including some new information about the long-awaited sequel, Zootopia 2.
The first film, released in 2016, won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature and was a hit at the box office and with critics, so when it was announced last year, the approval was obvious.
A new poster featuring Judy Hopps was revealed at D23 (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (My Friend Jason Bateman) chased by a group of animals during what appears to be a livestock celebration.
You can also see in the new image that reptiles and marine mammals will be part of the new film, as sea lions and a pink walrus are shown. There was also a walrus at the Expo Zootopia 2 stand, which leads us to believe that the main setting of the film will be the coast.
We also learned that the Oscar-winning actor Mr. Huy Quan (Everything, everywhere, all at once, Loki) joined the cast of the film as one of the evil reptiles, Gary.
Its tail appears quite prominently on the new logo for Zootopia 2 because the lower part of the number “two” is shaped like a snake’s tail.
Check out the new poster below and watch Zootopia 2 when it will be released on November 26, 2025.
