Disney Reveals First Stunning TRON: ARES Footage; Nine Inch Nails to Score Film

Disney has revealed the first footage from its upcoming film TRON: Ares film at D23 and gives us a first look at the return of Jeff’s Bridges! The footage looks pretty cool and will surely excite fans. It has already leaked online, so you can watch it below if you want.

The film follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares (Jared Leto), “who is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humanity’s first encounter with artificially intelligent beings.”

It was also announced at the event that Nine Inch Nails will be creating the soundtrack for the film, so we know it’s going to be awesome!

Evan Peter He plays Julian Dillinger in the film and the footage shows him speaking about the future of humanity during a presentation and saying, “Since the beginning of time, man has looked up at the stars and asked: Am I alone?”

It seems we’ve been looking in the wrong direction because intelligent life does exist, but it’s not out there, it’s in here. There’s so much talk about artificial intelligence and big tech, virtual worlds, when are we going to get there? Well, folks, we’re not going away. They’re coming here.”

The footage cuts to Ares in the real world, touching the rain. “There’s something at work in my soul, I don’t understand,” he says. “I came here to find something.”

The rest of the footage includes shots of a car being cut in half by a glowing bicycle and of Bridges barefoot, in a white robe, chanting, “Cheers, program.”

The film also stars Cameron Monaghan (Star Wars Jedi), Evan Peter (WandaVision), Greta Leoni, Jodie Turner Smith (actress) (Without Remorse), Greta Leoni, Hassan Minhaj, Arthur CastroAND gillian anderson.

Joachim Ronning directed the film, who previously spoke about the film saying, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the TRON franchise and to bring this new film to fans around the world.

“TRON: Ares builds on a legacy of cutting-edge design, technology, and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid.”

The film will be released on October 10, 2025.
