Marvel Releases First DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Footage at D23

Marvel Studios has released the first footage of Daredevil: Reborn during D23 and presents Charles CoxDaredevil and Vincent D’OnofrioThe Kingpins face off once again. We also get a first look at Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, back in action!

It’s actually a pretty exciting trailer, with some interesting scenes that preview the brutal action we’ve come to expect from Daredevil.

While it hasn’t been officially released online yet, a low-quality version of the trailer has leaked online, which you can check out below if you like.

Daredevil: Reborn meets Matt Murdock, “a blind lawyer with extraordinary abilities, and his nemesis, Wilson Fisk, who is pursuing his political agenda in New York.”

At the event, Kevin Feige brought Cox, D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson AND Jon Bernthal on stage to chat a bit about the upcoming show before sharing the footage with D23 attendees.

Head of Marvel’s Television, Streaming and Animation Division Mr. Bradhad already spoken about the series saying that it would give a new “political” perspective to the bitter rivalry between Daredevil and Kingpin.

Winderbaum compared the show to X-Men ’97: “Daredevil is amazing. It’s similar in some ways to X-Men ’97 because it’s reviving something that fans love. But it’s taking it in a new direction.”

He went on to tease how things have changed, saying, “These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society has changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.

“And their characters are going to collide in ways they’ve never seen before. It’s not enough to just try to kill each other anymore. There’s a whole game of politics at play.”

The new series is said to be inspired by Kingdom of the devil plot, which explores the power dynamics between the Kingpin and the vigilantes who oppose him. The story revolves around the power struggle between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, who becomes mayor of New York City.

D’Onofrio previously spoke about the project, saying, “It brings with it a lot of great storytelling and all the collateral history that happened in those original three seasons. So now we can start this Born Again situation with all that history behind it and the outcome of all that history. So now we’re all talking about Daredevil: Born Again in those terms.”

Daredevil: Reborn is currently in development by the directors Justin Benson AND Aronne Moorhead, our mentorwho worked on both Knight of the Moon AND Loki.
