Marvel Studios showed up at D23 to show off a bunch of stuff from their upcoming projects and one of the things they shared was some footage from the upcoming Disney+ series. Heart of Iron.
Producer Ryan Coogler showed up to introduce the footage and the film’s stars Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Regan Aliyah AND Alden Ehrenreich offered some insights into the series.
The footage has leaked online, so if you want, you can watch a low-quality version below. I’m still not sure about this series, I’ll just say that it would be nice if it exceeded my expectations.
Marvel Television Heart of Iron “confronts technology with magic when Riri Williams (Thorne), a brilliant young inventor determined to make her mark on the world, returns to her hometown of Chicago.
“Her unique take on iron suit construction is brilliant, but in pursuing her ambitions, she finds herself involved with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins, aka “The Hood” (Ramos).
The series also features the participation of Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam AND Anji White. Chinaka Hodge is head writer and EP; episodes are directed by Sam Bailey AND Angela Barnes.
The six-episode series was created by Chinaka Hodgeand the story follows Riri Williams, a young engineering genius and the creator of the most advanced armor since Iron Man. The series will be set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Previously it was said that the theme of Heart of Iron It will be “Magic vs. Technology”. Producer Nate Moore said he sees the Ironheart series as a direct sequel to Wakanda Forever.
He said, “That show is a result of how much we liked him in this movie and even on the page. So when we talked to [Dominique Throne] initially, obviously the character was written in the script and she was the only person we had talked about for the role. When she said yes and we went ahead with the script, we also started talking to [Ryan Coogler] about what the show might be.
“So, the show is a direct sequel to the movie. And [Riri Williams] She’s taking the experiences she has in this movie home with her to MIT. And there are some interesting repercussions to her adventures that will set her on a fun path.”
Ironheart will be released in 2025.
