Universal Studios has announced a new original haunted house coming to Halloween Horror Nights with “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines,” featuring an all-female ensemble of classic Universal monsters.
Among these monsters are the Bride of Frankenstein, the Daughter of Dracula, the She-Wolf of London, and the mummified, undead Egyptian princess Anck-Su-Namun.
I’ve always loved these Universal Monsters mazes at Halloween Horror Nights. They’re usually the coolest to look at! So, I can’t wait!
The haunted houses of “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines” will introduce guests to an all-new terrifying storyline as they find themselves at the center of the ultimate battle between two unexpected alliances of classic Universal female monsters.
“Fans will meet Saskia Van Helsing, a fearless new huntress and daughter of the revered Abraham Van Helsing, who killed Count Dracula by driving a stake through his heart, destroying his reign of terror. Saskia now faces Dracula’s daughter, Countess Marya, who has risen from the dead to seek revenge for her father and destroy the Van Helsing bloodline.
“On a mission to kill, Dracula’s Daughter, from 1936’s Dracula’s Daughter, forms a deadly alliance with the She-Wolf, from the 1946 film The She-Wolf of London, and Anck-Su-Namun, from the 1932 film The Mummy, only to be intercepted by Saskia and an unlikely ally, the Bride of Frankenstein.
“This terrifying adventure will take guests on a journey between the hunted and the hunters in a life-or-death battle, with only one bloodline left standing.”
The press release continues: “As the film studio that invented the horror genre, this haunted house at Universal Studios Hollywood will have even more relevance as it will reside on the legendary Sound Stage 12 at the back of the studio, the original filming location for Universal horror films such as Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), among other revered classic and contemporary films.”
The musical SLASH will also be returning to create the music for the Halloween experience. “Once again, SLASH will compose an original score for this all-new haunted house, and the score will be featured alongside his previous original compositions on a limited-edition vinyl album that will be sold at Universal Studios Hollywood throughout the event.”
At Universal Orlando Resort, Emmy-nominated composer Sara Barone will create an original score for this all-new haunted house, enhancing the guest experience even more.
“She has recently worked as a composer on the BBC’s “Planet Earth III,” alongside Hans Zimmer and Jacob Shea, and Amazon’s “Silver and the Book of Dreams.” Barone is currently a participant in the Universal Composers Initiative.
Halloween Horror Nights kicks off Friday, August 30 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 5 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
