Will there be a continuation of the “Jurassic World” (2025)? The budget allows

The seventh part of the legendary franchise, the “Jurassic World: Renaissance”, has already collected more than $ 809 million from the World Box Office with a budget of 180-225 million. This is a serious success for Universal and Amblin.

The history of the series shows: Even when the interest of the audience fell, every film deserved stable several times more from his budget. “Dominion” (2022) took a billion, “The World of the Jurassic Period 2” (2018) and exceeded the number of 1.3 billion complete, and even the less successful “Yura Park III” (2001) repelled the investment. In such circumstances, the continuation of the Renaissance looks almost guaranteed.

But there is a nuance – director Gareth Edwards is not sure if he will return.

“I shot this project as an independent story. I made one film – and then, if the public liked it, it will be possible to discuss the continuation,” he said.

According to him, from his appointment to the premiere, he had a little more than a year to prepare, shoot and post an extremely closed schedule for a large -scale summer blockbuster -an extremely dense schedule.

Edwards admits that he would like the new mythology to develop, also because of actors who are just as passionate about the subject of dinosaurs, like himself. Now, however, he intends to return to his author’s projects, as it was with the “maker” (2023).

The Jurassic World: Renaissance leaves room for future stories – whether it is the new adventures of Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), Duncan Kinkeede (Mahershal Ali) and Dr. Henry Lumis (Jonathan Bailey) or another round of horrorist on the forgotten ingredient. The financial success of the photo almost guarantees the continuation, but who will lead the filming – so far the question is open.
