The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, has caused quite a stir with numerous performances and artistic demonstrations that have impressed the audience and created buzz; if the rumors are true, the closing ceremony will be just as memorable.
According to TMZ, the actor Tom Cruise is about to pull off a spectacular stunt in the flag-passing from Paris to Los Angeles, which will host the 2028 Summer Olympics. The report says:
Sources with direct knowledge tell us that… the plan for the upcoming closing ceremony is for Tom to abseil from the top of the Stade de France… landing on the stadium pitch, carrying the official Olympic flag with him.
The TV broadcast then cuts to previously recorded footage… and the first 2 minutes show Tom’s journey by plane… flying the Olympic flag from France to Los Angeles, where he parachutes toward the Hollywood sign.
The Hollywood sign stunt was actually filmed on a Saturday morning in March, and our sources thought someone would see Tom in the air, connect the dots, and the story would leak out… but his descent went completely unnoticed.
We’re told the footage will then show Tom passing the flag to other Olympians, including a cyclist, a skateboarder and a volleyball player, as they travel to the next Summer Games host city.
It looks really over the top, in the style of all Tom Cruise stunts! It will be a blast to watch. Tune in on August 11th to see the whole thing.
