TRANSFORMERS/GI JOE crossover director reportedly resigned after “heated argument” with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura

According to a new report from Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider, the director of the Paramount Pictures film Transformers/GI Joe crossover movie, by Steven Caple Jr.he resigned and abandoned the project.

Apparently, Caple Jr. and the producer Lorenzo Bonaventura got into a heated argument during which the producer allegedly made “racially motivated” comments.

The report reads: “Multiple sources told me it happened because she had a heated argument with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and walked away from the project.”

He added: “I won’t go into the specifics of what I heard, but suffice it to say that I was told that some of DiBonaventura’s comments were interpreted as racist and that the old-school producer suggested that Caple should be more grateful for the opportunity to direct the big-budget crossover film, which is set to star Chris Hemsworth.”

I mean, this being Hollywood, it doesn’t surprise me that a producer would say stupid things when things get heated.

It looks like Steven Caple Jr. has already moved on, as it was recently revealed that he is now looking to direct the I am a legend followed with Will Smith AND Michael B. Giordano.

Regardless of who ends up directing this Transformers/GI Joe crossover, I’m not thrilled. The studio is handling this badly, and they’ll just end up making another mediocre and disappointing movie.
