Robert Kirkman Says INVINCIBLE Season 3 Will Be ‘Darkest’ Era With New Blue Suit

Invincible Season three premiered at Comic-Con this weekend, with the release of a poster showcasing Mark Grayson’s new blue costume.

As the series continues and Mark Grayson’s story unfolds, creator Robert Kirkman teases that next season will be Invincible’s “darkest, most intense” phase yet.

Kirkman explained: “Going into season three, it felt like the right time to bring in a new Mark after everything he’s been through in season two. He’s in a different state of mind and that’s reflected in his costume.

“Anyone who’s read the comic book series knows that the ‘Invincible’ era of the blue suit is the darkest and most intense, and there’s a lot of really important stuff that revolves around the blue suit.”

As for what’s coming Invincible Kirkman previews season 3: “I think you can see that season 2 is an evolution of a lot of the things that were introduced in season 1.

“The stakes were higher, things got a little crazier, and there were a lot of moving pieces that hinted at a lot of bigger stories. Those bigger stories really start to fall apart in season three.”

If the series faithfully follows the source material, things are going to get very difficult for Mark in the future.

The series’ story “revolves around eighteen-year-old Mark Grayson, who is like any other boy his age, except that his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet.

“Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in season one, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a series of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear: that he may become his own father without even knowing it.”
