Here’s the final trailer for the upcoming Mickey Mouse-inspired horror film The Mousetrapone of the first films produced after the classic Disney character entered the public domain.
The film features a murderer disguised as The Steamboat WillieThe version of Mickey Mouse that runs around an amusement park killing people.
In Mickey Mouse Mouse Trap“It’s Alex’s 21st birthday, but she’s stuck at the arcade on the graveyard shift, so her friends decide to surprise her, but a masked killer dressed as Mickey Mouse decides to play a game with them that she has to survive.”
The film was directed by James Bailey who said, “We just wanted to have fun with all of this. I mean it’s The Steamboat WillieMickey Mouse killing people. It’s ridiculous. We let ourselves go and had fun with it and I think it shows.”
He also said, “We’re actually big fans of Disney fans in general, not just Disney reimagined in horror movies or anything like that… so this is just our opportunity to be playful and creative with the character. And that’s exactly what we did. We had a ridiculous idea and we did it. Who wouldn’t want to see Mickey Mouse kill people?”
Regardless of what he says: this is just a stupid, quick money-making movie where they take Mickey Mouse and turn him into a sadistic killer.
The movie stars Sophie McIntosh, Callum Sywyk, Happy Nocitá, Ben-Harris, Damir Ković, Mackenzie Mills, Nick Biskupek AND Simone Phillips.
