AS Deadpool and Wolverine continues its success at the box office, My name is Ryan Reynolds. pays homage to Deadpool and Fox’s “weird” and “risky” Marvel universe, for which he is grateful.
Reynolds said: “It’s not just Deadpool saying ‘Oh, hello’ to the MCU. It’s Deadpool, Hugh, Shawn and I, saying goodbye to a place and an era that literally made us.
“We are forever grateful for the fun, weird, erratic, risky world of 20th Century Fox. It was our origin story and we wouldn’t change it for the world. And thank you to Kevin Feige and Disney for letting us share it.”
The movie is definitely a love letter to Fox’s X-Men universe, I just thought there would be more cameos than we got. Don’t get me wrong, the movie was great and I loved what it conveyed, I just thought we would see more original X-Men characters.
Deadpool and Wolverine It is now the sixth-biggest opening at the domestic box office with $211 million. It also broke the record for the first weekend of an R-rated film.
The film has grossed a total of $444.3 million worldwide after three days of release and is on track to gross over $1 billion.
