Last night at Comic-Con, I took the opportunity to hang out and watch the Marvel Studios movie Deadpool and Wolverine in a theater full of die-hard fans, which is the best way to watch a movie like this! The energy was electric and everyone was having a blast watching the movie.
Before the screening, my excitement was sky high. However, as the reviews started coming in, I had a better idea of what to expect and lowered my expectations a bit before entering the theater. There’s nothing wrong with going in with moderate expectations!
From the opening scene, Deadpool and Wolverine It locked me in and took me on a crazy, crazy journey! It was an incredibly fun movie that delivered exactly what I was hoping for!
The movie is full of hilarious humor, badass action, blood and guts, and the kind of irreverent antics we’ve all come to expect from Deadpool. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the entire movie. But the movie is also full of heart and a surprising amount of emotion, which I appreciated.
The film had a strong balance of humor, craziness, and soul. It was clear that everyone in the theater was having a blast! That said, the film is not without its flaws.
While the story overall was compelling, I felt that some aspects could have been developed more. I would have liked to see the story and some of the characters a little more developed. I think they could have cut 20 or 30 minutes from the film and repurposed it for deeper character development for some additional characters that are played with
One of the other exciting elements of Deadpool and Wolverine it’s the abundance of cameos. The movie is chock-full of surprise appearances, but there’s one in particular that was my favorite part of the movie, it’s a real show-stopper. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but you’ll know when you see it.
I loved all the cameos! It was a lot of fun to see so many characters crammed into this movie, but not all of the rumored cameos made it out. That didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment, though, as the ones that did appear were more than satisfying.
Director by Shawn Levi did a spectacular job with this film. He and his team managed to create a wild, chaotic and very entertaining MCU film that is true to the spirit of Deadpool.
The action sequences are top-notch, the violence is satisfyingly over-the-top, and the crude humor is exactly what fans of the franchise have come to expect and love. It’s clear that Levy had a lot of fun making this film, and that joy translates to the audience.
Deadpool and Wolverine This is a movie that every Marvel fan will want to see. I don’t need to tell you to rush to the theater because I know you already have tickets. So instead, I’ll just say this: enjoy the ride. This movie is a rollercoaster of awesome fun!
