DC Studios releases first trailer for James Gunnthe next animated series of Commando Creatures! This is the first project to be released under Gunn’s leadership at DC and it looks like it’s going to be a blast!
The series “tells the story of a secret team of incarcerated monsters, recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they are your last, worst option.”
The series looks like it has a solid script, it looks like it will tell an interesting and entertaining story, and the animation is good quality!
Gunn, who previously wrote the series, said: “The new series picks up immediately after the first-season finale of Peacemaker, which left Waller with her hands tied operationally, meaning she can no longer get away with risking lives to carry out her morally questionable clandestine missions. Instead, she recruits a motley crew of misfits, not unlike the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.”
The director continued by saying that the Commando Creatures roster is made up of “literal monsters, and I can’t wait for you to meet them. Creating this series has been one of the absolute joys of my life.”
The series’ team consists of a human, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster and a gorgon. The voice cast includes David Port like Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn like Weasel and GI Robot, Frank Grillo like Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova like Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma like The Bride, Zoe Cao like Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk like Dr. Phosphorus, with Steve Ague reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.
