While some fans hoped she would play the live-action version of Ahsoka, it was Rosary Dawson who got the role, which worked out great!
With Assoka The second season is currently in development by Dave Filoni at Lucasfilm, CB recently asked Eckstein if there are any other Star Wars characters she’d like to play in a live-action film.
Eckstein responded: “I feel like I wouldn’t be a Star Wars fans without thinking about it. So I want to preface this answer by saying that I leave this to Dave Filoni. I’ve always left story ideas to Dave Filoni.
“So I’ll start by saying I’m speaking as a fan, but obviously I would love to be in a live action movie in some way. My background is in live action.
“So I think it’s really funny, all the comments from fans who are like, ‘Oh, well, she’s just a voice actress.’ No, most of my career has been on stage or in front of the camera. So obviously I would love to appear in live action in any way.”
She continued, “But it’s funny, Rosario Dawson was essentially chosen by the fans to play Ahsoka, and it worked. I’m going to come up with my own fan idea, and I don’t know if it would work, but I think it’s a cool connection, I would love to appear as Mortis’ daughter.
“There’s a connection to Ahsoka. The daughter gave her life for Ahsoka. So I think it could be pretty cool in a way. But I also want to preface by saying that any cool idea I have, Dave Filoni always has a cooler idea.”
It would be really cool to see Eckstein in that role! It makes perfect sense for her to have a live action interpretation of that role.
