Hugh Jackman on Reacting to Wearing the Costume on the Set of DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE for the First Time – “You Could Hear a Pin Drop”

After all these years, X-Men fans will finally be able to watch Hugh JackmanWolverine in action wearing the classic yellow and blue costume, really cool!

After LoganWhen Jackman “retired,” fans simply accepted the fact that we would never see the actor don the iconic costume again, but now… thanks to Deadpool and Wolverinehere he is wearing the suit!

While promoting the film on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonJackman spoke about what it was like to don the armor for the first time on the film set.

She shared, “For 24 years people have been talking about it. It’s one of the first things Ryan said to me. I said I wanted to do it, and he was like, ‘We’re going to do yellow and blue.’

“I was like, ‘OK, I’m in.’ In my head I was like, I don’t know if this is going to work. I just don’t know. And as soon as I put it on, he had his Deadpool costume and I had mine.

“We went on set, a hundred crew members made a hundred movies, saw everything. You could hear a pin drop. It was just silence.”

What an amazing experience that must have been for everyone! It’s one of those things that a lot of fans wish they could have witnessed.

Jackman went on to talk about a guy who started crying when he saw him in the Wolverine costume. He said, “And there was a guy there, Billy Lawless, Ryan’s hairdresser. He started crying. His son’s name is Logan, just so you know. And he said, ‘This is the best day of my life.'”

That’s totally understandable! However, his son Logan might not appreciate the fact that seeing Jackman in the yellow and blue suit is the “best day” rather than his birth.

Producer Wendy Jacobson previously shared her experience of Jackman stepping out in the costume, saying, “It was one of the craziest things. It was the camera test before we started shooting, and seeing those two guys together in the costume was just incredible.

“But Hugh, when he came out in his yellow and blue jumpsuit, there were grown men, like, sobbing on set. So we knew it was a very special thing.”
