Todd McFarlane’s SPAWN Movie Gets Official Title – KING SPAWN

Producer of the movie Spawn Jason Blum Blumhouse has shared the official title of Todd McFarlaneit’s been long overdue To produce movie, and that title is King Spawn.

The title was revealed via a shared photo of the cover of the script, written by Matt Mixon, Malcolm Spellman and Scott Silver.

I guess this photo means that the script for the film has been completed and maybe they are actually ready to move forward with production.

My Friend Jamie Foxx is still attached to the film and will take over the role of Spawn next, and speaking recently about Foxx’s involvement, McFarlane said:

“Until Jamie says he can’t, he’s still my guy. I’m very loyal to people, and Jamie was my guy and has been my guy. He’s had a little setback and he says he’s going back to the top of the mountain.

“I have no doubts. I know Jamie, he’s a very strong-willed, determined human being. So he says, ‘Don’t worry about me, Todd. I’ll be there when the bell rings. I’ll be there.’ So I have complete, absolute confidence.”

The film has previously been described as “Spawn meets David Fincher” and a “gritty” and “dirty” thing. When previously speaking about his take on the story, McFarlane explained, “There are two major roles in the script. There’s obviously a sort of Spawn himself, although he’s not the most important role in some ways, and then there’s the cop. The cop is this Twitch character who’s been there since issue #1.

“Twitch is the role in this movie, and I kind of refer to him as my Sheriff Brody, who is the sheriff in the movie Jaws. Even though his name was Jaws, Jaws didn’t speak much in his movie, right? He just showed up at the right time to make the movie worthwhile.”

McFarlane has previously confirmed that the film will be rated R and that the script he wrote is “scary” and “badass.” He described Spawn as the film’s shark, saying, “The world will be real, except for one thing that moves. You’ll never see a guy in a rubber suit… This will be my shark of the shark.”

He explained his vision for the character, describing him as the bogeyman, and also shared some of the things we won’t see in the film: “In the background, there’s this thing that moves, this bogeyman.

“That boogeyman is just something that you and I, intellectually, know Spawn to be. Will it be like the first movie? No. Will he have a supervillain he fights? No. It’ll be the specter, the ghost.”

McFarlane also spoke about how it’s now or never to get his film made, explaining: “Something’s going to give in the next few months, right? There’s too many people pushing in that direction, again I have a call later today on that same subject.

“You can imagine Spider-Man making a billion dollars and everybody kind of goes a little bit… I mean, they were already crazy, now they’ve gone twice as crazy. I mean, they went crazy when the only movies that were making money were superhero movies, and then Venom comes along and it kills him, and then Spider-Man comes along and obliterates him, so now they’re almost unique in their mindset about the kind of ideas they have.

“So something has to happen. We’ll never get to the top of the mountain if we can’t do it now, with everyone wanting to do it now. Fingers crossed. I’d say it’s now or never.”

Producer Jason Blum He also previously said of the project: “What excited me is that Spawn is kind of the last great untapped comic book. So it seemed like an incredible opportunity.

“It took longer than I hoped to get the story right, but we’re still working on it.” Blum also said that the reboot “will be very different, it will be very edgy.”

Blum also said: “I’ll bring the Blumhouse touch [to the Spawn movie]. It’s going to be edgy and different from other superhero movies. It’s definitely going to feel like a Blumhouse version of a superhero movie.”

Let’s hope this is a solid script and that Blumhouse produces a great To produce movie!
