Max has released a new trailer for his upcoming sci-fi epic series Dune: Prophecywhich tells a story that takes place 10,000 years before the events of the first Dune novel.
Denis Villeneuve he is a producer of the series and the production value is on par with what we have seen in the movies. It looks like a great show!
The series follows the Harkonnen sisters as they battle forces that threaten the future of humanity and found the legendary sect known as the Bene Gesserit.
Emily Watson AND Olivia Williams will play Valya Harkonnen and Tula Harkonnen, the formidable Harkonnen Sisters, who have achieved power in the Sisterhood.
The series is “designed to coexist” with the Dune films and the story is told “through the eyes of a mysterious order of women known as the Bene Gesserit.
“Gifted with extraordinary abilities that stem from their mastery of body and mind, the Bene Gesserit navigate the feudal politics and intrigues of the Imperium, pursuing personal agendas that ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune.”
The cast of the series also includes Travis Fimmel (Vikings, Raised by Wolves), Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (The colony), Shalom Brune Franklin (The tourist), Faoileann Cunningham (The Man from the North), Aoife’s Hinds (Normal people), Chloe Lea (Foundation), Mark strong (Shazam!, 1917), Jade Anouka (Last Christmas, His Dark Materials), May of JodhiAND Chris Mason (Riverdale, St. Francis Church).
The series is written by Alison Schapkerwho is also the showrunner. John Spaihtswho co-wrote the scripts for the Dune film, he also worked on the series, and John Renck (Chernobyl) will direct the first episode and serve as executive producer.
Spaihts previously spoke about the series, saying, “The Bene Gesserit have always fascinated me. Centering a series around this powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring, but also a dynamic setting for the television series.”
Dune: Prophecy The launch is scheduled for November 2024.
