STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Director Says Series Will Bring ‘Children’s Perspective’ to STAR WARS Universe

I’m curious to know about the next Lucasfilm series Star Wars: Skeletal CrewI’ve loved everything I’ve heard about the series and what’s been teased and I just hope it delivers a strong, entertaining story.

One of the directors of the series is by Lee Isaac Chungwho also directed the upcoming summer movie The tornadoesand recently talked about the show.

Speaking on the Inside Total Film podcast, Chung teased what we can expect from the series, saying, “I can’t wait for people to see it.

“He has a lot of Jon Watts and anyone who’s a fan of what Jon Watts does: he’s very childlike in a wonderful way, in the way he tells stories and the way he captures a childlike perspective on things.

“Bring that beautiful perspective to this story of young people in Star Wars universe.”

Chung continues to tease that the series will bring something very different from Star Wars universe, saying, “I felt like I hadn’t seen it. When I read all the scripts, and when I was looking at the designs of what he was designing, he asked me if I would be on board.

“For me, it was a no-brainer once I saw what he was working on. And then also, working with him on that show, and with Jude and all the incredible actors that we have, it was so much fun. We just had a great time the whole time. The guys were incredible and fantastic.”

“What I hope is that it really touches families, and families will want to spend a lot of time with the show.”

The series has been described as “a galactic take on the classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” The story will follow four young boys on a small planet, who end up lost in the Star Wars galaxy and embark on a journey to find their way home.

The film was pitched to Lucasfilm as “The Goonies In Star Wars,” and it was explained that, although the series features four children, “it is not a show for children.”

The adventure they are on is said to be an intense and dark journey. In the story, four boys make “a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be an adventure greater than they ever imagined.”

Producer Christopher Ford offered some new details about the series saying that they set out to tell a fun adventure story. He said: “Skeleton CrewThe tone of “it’s an adventure.”

He continued: “We wanted it to be a lot of fun. But of course, with adventure comes the downside, which is danger. And when kids are in danger, it’s even more risky. So we played with that, but overall we just wanted it to be a fun adventure.”

Ford continued to talk about the tone of the series, saying, “I hope it can be for all ages. When we told Kathy Kennedy that we wanted to use that Amblin tone, which she’s perfected over the years, what she said is that they never thought of those movies as kids’ movies. They’re just kids’ movies, a story about a kid going on an adventure. So it could be for anyone.”

Judas Law She also previously spoke about her character in the story, saying, “I can’t tell you much about my character. She’s someone the kids encounter in their attempt to get home. She’s like so much of the world they experience: contradictory, and sometimes a place of nurturing and other times a place of threat.”

She added: “Because it’s through their eyes, sometimes there’s a kind of funny nature and a funny relationship between the kids and the adults. And then other times it’s really very dark and very scary, which I think is what the world probably looks like to a lot of 11-year-olds.”

The children in the series are played by Ravi Cabot Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy SmithAND Ryan Kiera ArmstrongThe episodes of the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, Davide Abbassa, Jake SchreierAND by Lee Isaac Chung. The MandalorianS Mr. Jon Favreau AND Dave Filoni will be executive producer.

The series will debut on Disney+ by Christmas.
