The Who‘S Author Byron Bowers has joined Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the next Marvel Studios movie Wonder Man series, currently under development by Destiny Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) AND Andrea Guest (Hawk eye).
There is no information on who will play Bowers, but Abdul-Mateen II will play the role of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man.
Cretton will direct the first two episodes. It had already been revealed that Ben Kingsley is also ready to resume his role as Trevor Slattery in the series. The cast of the series also includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II like Wonder Man, Demetrio Grosse as Eric Williams/Reaper, And Harris like Neal Saroyan, Bob Odenkirk, Lauren Glassmaker, My life is niceAND Georgia Gad.
The series will focus on Marvel character Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. In the comics, he is “the son of a wealthy industrialist whose company falls on hard times due to competition from Tony Stark’s Stark Industries.
“As a result, Williams accepts an offer from the villain Baron Zemo that grants him ionic superpowers, including super strength and endurance. After battling the Avengers several times, Wonder Man eventually joins their ranks.”
In the official Marvel podcast, Kevin Feige recently teased Wonder Man, saying, “We have a show coming up that we’ve talked about very little, called Wonder Man, and I’m not going to talk about it much today, except to say that it’s extremely different.
“It’s very exciting to be part of a company with 25 years or more of history, and a company that has been around for 85 years, nestled [within] The Walt Disney Company, which has been around for 100 years, and is still able to try new things, to take characters and stories to new places. That’s what excites me.”
It will be interesting to see what exactly they do with this series and how they tell the story of this character. Hopefully they develop something really cool and fun!
