A silly clip from TRANSFORMERS ONE shows the Transformers characters trying to transform for the first time

Paramount Pictures has released a first clip from its upcoming animated film Transformers Oneand features young Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and Elita-1 trying to transform for the first time in a very difficult situation for them.

The trailer plays out in a very silly and kid-centric way. There is no doubt that kids will enjoy this movie, but for long-time fans like me, this is not the Transformers movie I wanted to see.

This film tells the “origin story of how the most iconic characters in the Transformers universe, Orion Pax and D-16, went from brothers in arms to sworn enemies, Optimus Prime and Megatron.”

The voice cast includes Chris Hemsworth like the young Primo, Brian Tyree’s Chicken like the young Megatron, Scarlett Johansson like Elita-1, while Keegan Michael’s Key will voice the first version of Bumblebee (B-127). Author: Laurence Fishburne will voice Alpha Trion and Jon Hamm double Sentinel Prime.

Ramsey NaitoPresident of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, said: “I am so excited and proud to be working with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first-ever animated Transformers film, a story that has never been told before, to the big screen.

“I’m honored to have such incredible talent assembled to play these well-known and beloved characters in an origin story at the heart of the franchise.”

Producer Lorenzo DiBonaventure previously said: “This is… the origin story of young Megatron and young Optimus. If you know the origin, they started out as friends, and over time things evolved for them and they ended up on two sides.

“So we’re telling the story of young Optimus and young Megatron. We’re really telling the origin story of all the Transformers, both who they started out as, and how they grow up, and how they go their separate ways.”

This will be the first of what Di Bonaventura calls a “natural trilogy” and will explore “Cybertron in a way that you’ve never seen, that no one’s ever seen before.”

The film is directed by Josh Cooley (The history of toys 4) from a screenplay he wrote with Andrea Barrer AND Gabriel Ferrari.

The film will be released on September 20, 2024.
