Director david lynch he met with Cristabell for the next album Cellophane Memoriesand directed an animated music video for one of the tracks titled “The Answers to the Questions”.
The album “was born from a vision David had during a night walk in a forest of tall trees, where he saw a bright light in the treetops. As he recalls, the light became the cadence of Chrystabell’s voice and revealed a secret to him.”
“The elisions in time reappear over and over again in Chrystabell’s voice, emerging, dissolving and re-enveloping in layers of harmony and history.
“They are cloaked in David and the late composer Angelo Badalamenti’s waldeinsamkeit-inspired string orchestra, dreamlike guitar glissandos and clouds of reverb, whose melodies are like the sensation of time stopping for a first kiss.”
Singer and actress, Chrystabell appeared in Lynch’s film Twin Peaks: The Returnand previously collaborated with David Lynch on the albums This Train and Somewhere in the Nowhere.
Sacred Bones Records will release the album on August 2, 2024.
