San Diego Comic-Con is just two weeks away and we’re starting to see programs and exclusives coming ahead of the event. One of those exclusives is a piece of art featuring DC Commando Creatureson the cover of an exclusive edition of the Comic Con of Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE #1, which you can collect at the fair.

James Gunn recently shared the first story details for the upcoming DC Studios animated series, saying, “The new series picks up immediately after the season one finale of Peacemaker, which left Waller with her hands tied operationally, meaning she can no longer get away with risking lives to carry out her morally questionable clandestine missions. Instead, she recruits a motley crew of misfits, not unlike the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.”
The director continued by saying that the Commando Creatures roster is made up of “literal monsters, and I can’t wait for you to meet them. Creating this series has been one of the absolute joys of my life.”
The team consists of a human, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn has previously said that he believes this series is “some of the best stuff I’ve ever written.”
It was previously explained that the story of the project is so big that the only way to tell it would be through animation, because it would be too expensive to make it as a live-action film.
Many of these characters will also “play roles in live-action films later in the DCU,” and it was recently confirmed that some of these characters will appear in Superman.
The voice cast includes David Port like Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn like Weasel and GI Robot, Frank Grillo like Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova like Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma like The Bride, Zoe Cao like Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk like Dr. Phosphorus, with Steve Ague reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.
