The only Marvel movie coming out in theaters this year is Deadpool and Wolverineand a lot depends on that as far as relaunching the MCU with fans.
We can’t wait to see this film, if only for the action and laughs it promises, but it also looks like the story will have long-lasting repercussions that we’ll see outlined in the film.
As for whether these ripples will launch the Deadpool and Wolverine characters into future films, we’ll just have to wait and see, but the guys were asked about that possibility in a recent interview with Variety.
Director by Shawn Levi and stars My name is Ryan Reynolds. AND Hugh Jackman They spoke in depth about the film in Variety’s in-depth interview, and were asked about their future in the MCU and whether they might appear in the next Avengers films.
Reynolds replied, “I don’t know. Yeah, we’ll see. Yeah.” For a dubious answer, he said “yes” twice, so that could be indicative… maybe. Levy added, “Now is where you go to the descriptive part of the article and say, ‘They moved in their seats.’”
Jackman tried to salvage the conversation, addressing the awkwardness, saying, “Clearly, this is our first major interview of this press tour. I don’t know how to respond.”
Levy then said, “We’re going to get a much more concise and evasive answer for all future interviews.” Reynolds joked, “A cough echoes in the distance; a hawk circles. You can throw that in there if you want.”
When Reynolds was later asked how long he could imagine himself playing the Merc with a Mouth, he replied, “I don’t know. I could see any version of it. I can imagine a solo movie, as part of an ensemble. I can imagine this being the last time, too. That’s all I ever feel.”
With the reception I expect for this film, I feel pretty confident in saying that this isn’t the last we’ll see of Deadpool, at least. We’re only two weeks away from the film’s release.
