The director of the next horror thriller Long legs keep teasing Nicholas Cagein the movie. We have yet to get a look at Cage in the role, as they are saving the big reveal for those who see the movie.
One thing we know about Cage’s look is that it’s going to be creepy. The actor plays a sinister serial killer in the film, and the character’s entire look is designed to terrify.
Cage dons a white blonde wig and a face full of prosthetics for the role, and when it comes to the actor stepping into the role, the writer-director Oz Perkins shared some insights.
Perkins explained: “Early in development, Nic was really excited about burying himself, which I thought was awesome, because I don’t think he’d ever done that before.”
Speaking about the character’s disturbing aspect, the director said: “In the script, he’s described as someone who’s been ruined, ruined by life, ruined by living the life he’s had to live.
“For me, a good shortcut was, like, when you see someone who’s had plastic surgery and you’re like, ‘Wow, you’ve really ruined everything, right? Everything? Everything that was you is now fucking ruined.’ So, that was elementary, that was the shortcut.”
“She continued: “You just start getting in touch with makeup artists, you talk about what botched plastic surgery looks like. Then you start building it, piece by piece, and you tweak and like everything else and you shape it and you sculpt it and you throw things away and you try again.”
Maika Monroe He talked about the first time he saw Cage in makeup, saying: “When I saw Nic as Longlegs for the first time; that [reaction] It was incredibly genuine because I had never seen it before.
“Oz called for action, I walked into the room, so it was all very real. I had a feeling. [as to what he was going to look like] based on some of my initial conversations with Oz, but it’s one thing to read and listen to something, compared to having it sitting two feet away from you.”
You can see her whole reaction here, which made her heart rate jump to 170 bpm. It looks like an incredibly intense and scary scene.
In the story, “As the case takes complex turns, uncovering evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the ruthless killer and must race against time to stop him before he kills another innocent family.”
Long legs It is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers”, and early reviews have compared it to the classic 90s thriller The Silence of the Lambs.
The film will be released on July 12, 2024.
