Wednesday The second season is currently filming in Ireland with the director Tim Burton’s Worldand showrunner Alfred Gough AND Miles Millarbringing the series to life.
The series is having a huge impact on Ireland and it has been revealed that it is the “largest production ever shot in Ireland” in terms of production spend.
To mark this event, the Irish Prime Minister, Prime Minister Simon Harrisvisited the set to meet the cast and crew of the series and to say a few words to celebrate the occasion.
Harris said: “I am delighted to see Ireland continue to be chosen as a location for TV series and films that support our economy, create jobs, showcase our creative talent and promote our country on the world stage.
Anna Mallett, VP of Production EMEA at Netflix, said: “We’ve invested heavily in Irish-made productions over the past few years, including ‘The Siege of Jadotville’, ‘The Wonder’, ‘Bodkin’ and ‘Vikings: Valhalla’.”
He went on to say that, alongside the “cultural coup” of Wednesday it would also be the recovery of Marian Keyes Adults and Lisa McGee How to get to Heaven from Belfast in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Lindsay Sloane, Head of MGM Television, added: “Ireland has long been the home of MGM Television productions, dating back to the original Vikings in 2012, in Vikings: Valhallaand now Wednesday.
“In Ireland we have found world-class resources and an incredibly skilled group of professionals and apprentices who help us bring our productions to life.”
Jenna Ortega returns to lead the new season as Wednesday Addams, with Louis Guzman coming back like Gomez Addams and Catherine Zeta-Jones back as Morticia Addams.
The cast of the second season also includes Joy Sunday like Bianca, Joanna Lumley like grandma, Emma Myers like Enid, Steve Buscemi like Barry Dort, Billie Piper like Capri, and Graziella Newton like Dr. Fairburn, along with Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Evie Templeton, Owen PainterAND Noah Taylor.
Additionally, season two guest stars include Jamie McShane, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, Fred ArmisenAND Christopher Lloyd.
Netflix also revealed that Wednesday Season 2: Chapter 1 is titled “Here We Woe Again”, directed by Tim Burton!
The series is described as “an investigative mystery, steeped in supernatural elements, that traces Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.” The series follows…
“Wednesday attempts to master his emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous series of murders that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that engulfed his parents 25 years ago, all while navigating his tangled new relationships.”
Speaking previously about what we can expect from season two, Ortega said: “We’re definitely going for a little bit more horror, but it’s really, really exciting because throughout the show, even though Wednesday needs a little arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her.”
He continued: “There are some really, really good jokes, and I think everything is bigger, a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”
