Universal Pictures has released a stunning new behind-the-scenes special for the upcoming tornado action thriller The tornadoes. It offers a fun look at what went into filming some of the film’s wildest action scenes. It looks like it would have been a really fun film production to be a part of!
The film is the sequel to the 1996 film Tornadoand is described as “a thrilling, adrenaline-pumping, big-screen experience that puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous and destructive forces.”
The movie stars Daisy Edgar Jones (1977) as Kate Cooper, “a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens from the safety of New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend Javi to test a revolutionary new tracking system.”
This is where he meets Tyler Owens (Mr. Glen Powell), “the charming, daredevil social media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his rowdy crew – the more dangerous the better.”
The synopsis goes on to say, “As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena unlike anything seen before are unleashed and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves directly in the path of multiple storm systems converging on central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.”
The tornadoes even the stars Anthony Ramos (In the heights) like Javi, next to David Corenswet (Superman: Legacy), Brandon Perea (No), Sasha’s Lane (American honey), by Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), My life is nice (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) AND Maura Tierney (Beautiful boy).
The tornadoes will be released exclusively in theaters on July 19.
