Actress Lindsay Lohan she has officially returned to play Anna in the upcoming sequel Crazy Friday 2whose production has begun at Disney Studios.

The actress says she was struck by a strong sense of déjà vu on the set of her upcoming sequel. The actress said she felt “like a kid again” during the nostalgic experience of returning to Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, to film the sequel to her 2003 body-swap family comedy.

Lohan recently told Nightline: “Jfriend [Lee Curtis] and I’ve stayed in touch over the years. You know what they say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close to? If you don’t see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you’ve never been apart.

“I think for me it was really when I went to the Disney lot. And going back to the Disney lot because it’s not just Crazy Friday for me. This is The parent Trapthese are the Confessions of a Teen Drama Queenthat is Grass. It’s so many moments for me. So when I got there, I felt like the essence of a child again.

“I’m so grateful for every moment. Every second… I’m going to be emotional. It’s a great experience.”

Lohan played Anna Coleman in the 1976 remake of the Disney classic (based on the 1972 book by (Mary Rodgers)alongside Curtis as mom Tess Coleman. When the bickering mother and daughter open an enchanted fortune cookie, they end up experiencing a day in each other’s lives.

After years of speculation that the two might reunite for a sequel, Lohan and Curtis kicked off filming this month with a photoshoot in front of the dressing rooms of their nearby trailers.

“We’re back!” he wrote in the caption of a behind-the-scenes clip, as Disney announced: “The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Crazy Friday is now in production!”

Written by Jordan Weiss and directed by Nisha GanatraThe sequel sees Anna now all grown up with a daughter of her own, as she prepares to welcome a stepdaughter into her new marriage. With her new family dynamic, a new version of body swapping will follow.

Julia Throws, Sophia Hammons, Maitreya Ramakrishnan AND Manny Jacinto have been cast in the sequel, along with returning cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, My life is nice, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky AND Rosalind Chao.

Crazy Friday 2 is expected to hit theaters in 2025.
